We recognise that parents and carers taking pictures of, or filming their children is a normal part of family life and helps mark milestones in a child’s life. However, we also recognise the need to have proportionate controls in place regarding the use of cameras, videos and mobile phones.
- Whittington Cricket Club will not take photos or video recordings of your child without your consent. We are aware that there may be reasons why individuals may not wish their child’s photograph to be taken by someone they do not know personally.
- We will not publish the picture of your child along with their name without your consent (this could be on the club’s website, on social media or in the local paper). Wherever possible, we will show the image to the child and their parent or carer in advance of publishing.
- Whittington Cricket Club will only publish images of children wearing appropriate kit.
- If we do not have consent for your child’s photograph to be taken then we will make it known to the relevant person of the other team (e.g. their coach) so the appropriate person taking photographs for the other team can avoid taking photographs of your child.
- If possible, we will inform your child if a person will be taking photographs.
- We will inform children that if they have concerns about a person taking photographs, they should report these.
- Concerns regarding inappropriate, or intrusive, photography should be reported to the Club Welfare Officer, Beth Kelly, and will be recorded in the same manner as any other child protection or safeguarding concern.
- Whittington Cricket Club does not use video equipment as a coaching aid, if this changes we will make parents aware of its use and our retention and storage policy.
